Curriculum Model
Access to materials such as pencils, paper, and an internet connection is important for our students to thrive in the virtual classroom, and we'll do our best to make that happen for our deserving students!
Below are some of the tenants we hope tutors follow to ensure a quality learning experience. Also, we have added some extra resources such as Khan Academy and IXL for support after the session!
--------
A comprehensive materials list is given in at least a week in advance to allow time for gathering materials. Materials that are easily accessible for some families may be difficult to find for others, so make sure you allow adequate time for learners to prepare.
Technology tools the learner will need beyond Zoom if any. For any specific requirements like software versions, accessories, or Mac vs. PC considerations, we will try to troubleshoot tech issues immediately.
Pre-requisite classes, skills, or experience needed to be successful in the session will be evaluated to meet the student's ability and challenge level.
Resources such as Khan Academy and IXL will be used throughout the session for independent work. If the student has any work that they need assistance with from the classroom or other enrichment, they can use the mentor/tutor as an open resource throughout the session.
