ABOUT:

Pacific Pines Tutoring LLC is a tutoring business focusing on access to education for K-8 students. Prospective tutors are high schoolers and college students who have diverse experiences in academic education. The business aims to provide affordable and accessible tutoring for low-income students to increase confidence in academic ability. We hope to achieve this goal with the support of our tutors, staff, and community.

STORY:

Nadira Ahmed, a student who attends a competitive high school, saw the lack of access to affordable tutoring for ambitious students who wanted to get into their dream colleges. The students were lost and ill-advised by counselors who did not evaluate the current college admissions process. If the tutoring resource was provided earlier on for these students, a mentorship would be formed which would benefit their future endeavors as a scholar. By creating K-8 tutoring services led by ambitious students who are active learners, not only tutoring sessions will be provided, but a lifelong mentor. Nadira believes in the invaluable connection between a mentor and a mentee, and that is established with each tutoring session at Pacific Pines Tutoring LLC.

CALENDLY:

“Calendly” is a platform that allows parents to book sessions for tutoring with virtual tutors according to the tutor's availability. A Zoom link will be generated once a session is booked, and sent to both the parent or student and the tutor. The tutor will host the meeting and send reminders to the registered email in regards to the time and content of the session
